WBBA 2022-2023 Registration Update

Our coaches registration for the 2022-23 Youth Traveling Basketball Season is now up. Anyone that is interested in coaching (head coach or assistant) must register even if you have coached with us in the past. If you register as a coach we will reach out to you with an interview request.
This is for 3rd-8th grade traveling teams (3rd graders and 4th graders will probably be combined).

10K Shot Club Starts Now & Summer Open Gyms

Happy Summer to everyone!  We wanted to send out a quick note, the 10K shot club challenge starts now.  Please let your kid(s) know that these shots should be worked on as if they were game shots.  This will go a long way as far as development goes.  Here is the link with additional information:

10,000 Shot Club

Also, we are currently working on securing gym time for open gyms.  Due to construction and a few other uncertainties, this process has been delayed.  Once we receive word on availability we will make it known to all.

Have a great Summer and GO BEARS!

Volunteers Needed

There are several non-elected positions that support the operational aspects of the White Bear Basketball Association Board of Directors.  Below you will find the title and a brief description of responsibilities.  We are looking for great friends and parents within the community to fill these roles.

Events Coordinator

The WBBA Events Coordinator primarily facilitates the family volunteer committees for the Opening Tipoff Event at the beginning of the season and the Final Buzzer. General duties are as follows.

  • Solicit volunteers from the families of the 7th and 8th grades to help with serving food, managing raffles, decorating the gym, etc.
  • Take general direction from the WBBA board members and the volunteer committees in connection with these events

Concessions Coordinators

The concessions tables at varsity games and WBBA traveling tournaments are staffed by WBBA volunteers managed by the Boys and Girls Program Directors. The WBBA needs one or more individuals to assist the Boys' and Girls' directors with administrative activities around these concessions. This position could be staffed with a small group to divide tasks efficiently. These duties are as follows.

  • Track and purchase inventory for tournaments and varsity home games
  • Manage the concession storage and “storefront” location at South Campus throughout the season.
  • Ensure that adequate food and beverage inventory is on hand for high school games and the traveling tournaments
  • Arrange for the proper closing and securing of the South Campus storage location after varsity games
  • Ensure that the concessions equipment, etc. is in working order.

Go Bears!
